What is Hy?

Hy is an AI agent for iPhone and Android, made by HybridAI GmbH in Germany. It keeps an eye on your mail and calendar, tells you what needs you today and gets it done: replies, summaries, plans and changes in your connected accounts, within the approvals you set.

What is the difference between Hy and a chatbot?

A chatbot answers when you ask. Hy also works on its own: it checks your mail and calendar every half hour in the cloud, prepares a reply draft or a meeting brief when it can, and tells you when something needs you. It can also act in your connected accounts.

Which accounts can I connect?

Google (Gmail, Calendar, Drive), Microsoft 365 (Outlook, OneDrive), GitHub, and other mailboxes such as GMX, WEB.DE, T-Online or iCloud Mail. On the iPhone you can also share Calendar, Reminders, Contacts and Health, read-only.

Does Hy act without asking me?

You decide. In Settings → Approvals, Always ask means you review every change before it runs. Risky actions lets routine work go ahead and asks before risky or destructive actions. You can also give standing permissions.

Where is my data stored?

Your Hy workspace is stored in Germany. The AI providers you choose may process requests elsewhere; Hy explains this and asks for your consent before your messages go to AI services.

Which AI models does Hy use?

In Settings you choose Hy's Flavour, which decides the AI provider behind it, including an option hosted in the EU.

Can I see and delete what Hy remembers?

Yes. Settings lists every memory Hy keeps about you, one by one. Correct any of them in your own words or delete it. You can also delete your whole account from inside the app.

Can I talk to Hy?

Yes. Write to Hy, or call it from the chat and just talk. You can cut in any time, and what you say is kept as text in the conversation.

What is the connection between Hy and HybridClaw?

Hy runs on HybridClaw, the open-source agent runtime by HybridAI. Skills available in HybridClaw, such as invoicing with FastBill, HubSpot or HeyGen videos, can also be used in Hy.

Is Hy available for iPhone and Android?

Yes. Hy for Android is available on Google Play. On the iPhone, Hy is in beta: sign up on gethy.ai, confirm your email address, and we'll send you an invite to test it.

Do I need an account?

Hy needs a HybridAI account, which you can create in the app with your email address, Apple, Google or Microsoft. You manage your account at hybridai.one.

What is the difference between Hy and Muse from Meta?

Muse is Meta's personal AI agent, rolling out in the US since September 2026. Like Hy, it carries out tasks across connected apps and keeps working in the background. Hy is made by HybridAI GmbH in Germany, is available in Germany and the EU, and your Hy workspace is stored in Germany. Hy also connects to mailboxes such as GMX, WEB.DE or T-Online, and you choose the AI provider behind it, including an option hosted in the EU.

What is the difference between Hy and Dots from OpenAI?

Dots are OpenAI's always-on agents inside ChatGPT, launched in September 2026. At launch they are part of the Pro, Business Premium and Enterprise plans only, the Pro plan is not offered in the EEA, Switzerland or the UK, and a dot is set up on the desktop. You set up Hy right on your phone, it is available in Germany, and it is not tied to one AI company: under Flavour you pick the model, including one hosted in the EU.

What is the difference between Hy and Grok Bot?

Grok Bot by xAI (now SpaceXAI) has been in an early beta since August 2026 for subscribers of SuperGrok Heavy and Cursor's top plans. Its bots operate apps and websites in their own cloud environment, and you cannot choose the model behind them. Hy is an app for iPhone and Android that connects directly to your mail, calendar and files. You decide in Settings → Approvals when Hy asks you, and you choose the AI provider yourself.

What is the difference between Hy and Claude Code?

Claude Code by Anthropic is a coding agent for developers: it works on code in the terminal, the IDE or the browser, reads repositories, and writes and tests programs. Hy is built for everyday life: mail, calendar, files and to-dos, on your phone, by text or voice. If you write code, the two work well side by side, and Hy can connect to GitHub too.

What is the difference between Hy and OpenAI Codex?

Codex is OpenAI's coding agent. It writes, reviews and fixes code in its app, the terminal, the IDE or the cloud, and comes with ChatGPT plans. Hy is not a programming tool but a personal agent for your day: it watches your mail and calendar, tells you what needs you, and drafts replies, plans and summaries.

What is the difference between Hy and Microsoft Copilot?

Microsoft Copilot is closely tied to Windows, Edge and Microsoft 365 and is strongest inside Word, Excel, Outlook and Teams. Hy is not bound to one ecosystem: it works with Microsoft 365 as well as Gmail, Google Calendar and Drive, and mailboxes such as GMX or WEB.DE, all in one chat. And it speaks up on its own when something in your mail or calendar needs you.

What is the difference between Hy and OpenClaw?

OpenClaw is an open-source agent that you install and run yourself on your own computer or server. You talk to it through messengers such as WhatsApp or Telegram and bring your own API keys or local models. That is flexible, but it takes technical know-how and care with access rights. Hy is an app you install on your phone, with nothing to set up, and approvals decide what it may do without asking. Like OpenClaw, Hy builds on open source: it runs on HybridClaw, the agent runtime by HybridAI.

What is the difference between Hy and Hermes Agent?

Hermes Agent by Nous Research is an open-source agent with long-term memory that builds new skills from experience. It runs as a desktop app on macOS and Windows or in the terminal on Linux; a mobile app has been announced. Hy is built for the phone from the start, runs ready-made in the cloud and checks your mail and calendar every half hour, even while the app is closed.
